I was inspired to write these books to help others deal with difficult situations and help make the world a kinder place.
Oliver was born out of the grief of losing our dog, along with other losses in a short time. Grief is a very personal journey and we all have to travel the road as best as we can. It is a comfort to know that they are always with us and to feel their presence.
These books are ideal for anyone interested in finding ways to help children learn to accept and process feelings that may be new to them or confusing. Boo Gets Scared Too, walks the reader through different situations that may cause fear or uncertainty. Boo provides the tools and a toolbox to help children work through their fears and learn to manage and overcome difficult situations.

Marina has worked with children for over five years in preschool and in home settings. In the home, Marina was a Nanny for children ages 2-8. In both settings, Marina learned just how much art and pictures impact how children learn and process their thoughts and emotions.
When Marina paints now, she imagines what a child would see. Marina tries to invoke certain emotions with the colors and brush strokes to help people really feel something when they look at her art. After all, children have the purest way of experiencing the world, and as much as we teach them, we can also learn from them.

"FIRST OF ALL THE ART IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! It touches on a subject not many people talk about having to deal with, even a lot of adults don't deal with grief in a healthy way, so teaching it to the next generation at a young age is important." - Jodie K
"I am very pleased with the author of the book for taking the time to sign the book for my son. My son loved reading the book and then we sat down to talk about fears. Since there are so many moments in our life with scare situations. This was a learning moment for both of us. Thank you Caren and Marina!" - Deli N
"First of all, the book is so colorful and beautiful. The drawings are great and the readability is perfect for young minds. The story has a way of helping kids to learn confidence and self-esteem without making it feel teachy. This is the second book from Caren Sollod and another top notch children's book, looking forward to the next book!" - Cameron A
